Douglas Thompson was appointed president and CEO of Mattapoisett, Mass.-based Watch Captain.


“The software experience and management skills Doug brings to Watch Captain will help propel the company forward,” said Charles Bascom, founder and board chairman, in a statement. “I am very pleased to have Doug at the helm as we enter the next phase of Watch Captain’s evolution.”

Thompson has more than 20 years of experience in software, information systems, management and accounting. For the last eight years, he served as general manager of Altair Avionics Corp., a software solution provider in the aerospace industry.

He holds a Master of Science degree in computer information systems from Bentley College and a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, with a concentration in accounting, from Northeastern University.

Watch Captain offers marine management solutions for about 400 marinas, shipyards and boatbuilders.

Hungerford has many years in the marine industry and will be concentrating on accounts from Georgia to Key West, Fla., and from the Hudson River to the Canadian and U.S. borders of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. is a marina search engine that helps boaters find marinas and marine services around the world, including reservations and navigation information.

Greg Bowser was named vice president of U.S. operations for Flair Enterprises, the parent company of DealerLinx, a Web-based finance and insurance operating system for dealers in the marine, RV, power sport and conversion trailer industries.

Bowser’s background includes logistics, personnel management, customer service and vendor relations. He has served as director of operations for Plant Motors LLC (another Flair business) since July 2008.

He is a member of The Association for Operations Management, certified in Production and Inventory Management, and has a bachelor’s degree from Missouri State University.
