The Soundings Trade Only 40 Anniversary Gala took place Sept. 30, the evening before the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference opened. The event, held at the Tampa Museum of Art, was attended by about 280 industry stalwarts. It included cocktails, dinner, live music and exclusive access to the museum’s galleries.

Beyond celebrating 40 years of Soundings Trade Only, the gala was also used to announce the winners and runners-up of the magazine’s Top 10 Most Innovative Companies awards, to present a $7,000 check from the magazine to the ABYC Foundation, and to give NMMA president Thom Dammrich a send-off.

On display outside were boats and engines from industry sponsors, including a 1961 Ski Nautique, a Yamaha XTO Offshore outboard and a Volvo Penta sterndrive. Co-sponsors Lumishore, Fusion and Propspeed had displays around the museum inside.

After a champagne toast to 40 years of Soundings Trade Only, the group enjoyed a dinner and settled into night of socializing and dancing to the music of the Miami-based band The Social. The event concluded around midnight Here are some photos from the evening.
