China's Sunbird Yachts is expanding and has opened a new overseas branch in the United States, the company announced.

California's Plandy Yachts, along with Marco-Polo Yachts in Italy and Plandy Yachts in Hong Kong, will work on yacht design, construction, sales and service.

"We focus more on prep work with local experts that we have or to hire, so we are ready to go when time is back for the world market," company president Li Yue Xian said in a statement.

The company also has opened more sales and service centers in China.
