The Coast Guard Foundation said it hired Linda Naugle as regional director of philanthropy for California and Hawaii.

She will work closely with Coast Guard units in those states to identify and fulfill education, morale and family-support needs. Naugle is based in San Francisco.

“We welcome Linda to the Coast Guard Foundation team,” foundation president Susan Ludwig said in a statement. “We look forward to her work building on the core support we’ve provided the Coast Guard through the generosity of our donors in California and Hawaii.”

Naugle brings 19 years of nonprofit fundraising experience to the foundation. She previously worked at the University of San Francisco and at the U.S. Fund for UNICEF.

“I am honored to serve the brave men and women of the United States Coast Guard,” Naugle said. “These individuals make a difference while tirelessly carrying out their marine environmental protection, search-and-rescue and law-enforcement missions. I am eager to collaborate with those who can have an impact on the lives and well being of the dedicated Coast Guard members and their families.”
