The Coast Guard Foundation, a non-profit committed to the education, welfare and morale of Coast Guard members and their families, announced that the Coast Guard Remember movement, which raises funds to support the foundation's Fallen Heroes Scholarship Program, will hold the majority of its events this weekend.

They include walks, runs, bike rides and workouts at venues across the country to raise funds for the children of Coast Guard members who have died in the line of duty.

The signature event of Coast Guard Remember is the Keys 100, a 100-mile ultra-marathon that starts in Miami and ends in Key West, Fla. Ninety Coast Guard members will run in teams to honor personnel who have died since 1978.

"We are proud to be part of Coast Guard Remember events, and we are honored to have its proceeds support our Fallen Heroes Scholarship Fund," Coast Guard Foundation chairman of the board Robert Flynn said in a statement.
