Coast Guard teams with college on diversity project

The Coast Guard and Fayetteville State University are launching a student research partnership as part of a diversity initiative.

Designated Atlantic-area Coast Guard members will work with Fayetteville State faculty to identify research topics for participating students, according to the Coast Guard.

They will provide interviews to students with respect to policies, rules and regulations of the Coast Guard related to identifying topics of research and will advise students on disclosure limitations.

Students will then provide a copy of research and thesis papers resulting from the studies.

Sea Tow Foundation appoints new directors

The nonprofit Sea Tow Foundation has announced the return of Gail R. Kulp as executive director. Michael Wesolowski, the former executive director, is now the director of external affairs.
