Cox Powertrain developing system to produce diesel outboard

Cox Powertrain, the British manufacturer of the CXO300 diesel outboard, has contracted with QM Systems to develop a system to produce the engine. The deal is reportedly worth more than $2.1 million.

“The engine will be assembled in the U.K. using QM Systems engine line production system, taking advantage of modern, automated manufacturing techniques to ensure a highly efficient delivery process,” said Mark Palethorpe, CFO of Cox Powertrain, in a statement.

“We have developed our partnership with Cox Powertrain through an extensive period of providing support and advice for ensuring the manufacturing of this exciting new product is truly world class,” said Nick Field, managing director of QM Systems.
