Cox Powertrain has leased a 28,000-square-foot factory near Shoreham Airport in West Sussex, England, to manufacture the CXO300 diesel outboard.
Cox says the engine will go into production in the second quarter of 2019. The company employs 70 people and plans to add 78 workers before 2020. It expects the facility to be operational later this year.
“Cox Powertrain’s new facility enables us to assemble the CXO300 diesel engine and meet our production goals this year,” said Tim Routsis, Cox Powertrain CEO, in a statement. “Our new assembly plant is a major step in the company’s journey to become a world-leading engineering innovator.”
