Clarks Landing Boat Sales will host a free Valentine’s Party Feb. 14-15 at its Chester, Md., showroom on Kent Island.

The event will feature a free First Mate Workshop, complimentary roses, champagne, wine and food, vendor showcase, a DJ and more. Attendees will be able to register for a free electronics training class or free women on water training class to be held this spring.

The dealership will also have door prizes and giveaways throughout the weekend.

Dr. Shrink of Manistee, Mich., appointed Proxam Distribution to offer its shrinkwrap and accessory products throughout France.

Located in Marseille, France, Proxam distributes technical equipment and spare parts to OEMs and the aftermarket. The company also prepares a 400-plus page catalog for ordering.

"Proxam will help our business expand even more into international markets," Dr. Shrink president Mike Stenberg said in a statement.

Tallon Marine, the New Zealand-based manufacturer of the The Tallon System, appointed Paynes Marine Group as the Canadian distributor of its receiver platforms and four ranges of interchangeable accessories, including fishing and diving, entertaining, attaching and power.

“Since we set up our distribution hub in the United States, we believed that Canada was a natural progression on that front,” said Duncan Good, general manager at Tallon Marine, in a statement. “We were looking for a Canadian distributor with national market penetration and the infrastructure to supply both dealers and OEMs.”

Paynes Marine Group, Canada's only national wholesale distributor and agent, offers more than 34,000 brand-name marine equipment products to dealers, manufacturers, shipyards and government agencies.

Edson International of New Bedford, Mass., appointed Harken South Africa to distribute and service the Edson product line in the South African market.

The Cape Town-based distributor was established in October 2003, exclusively to increase market share for the Harken deck gear. The company has since expanded its product line to include other non-competing brands in the recreational marine business.

Harken South Africa will be the source for Edson's complete product line, including steering equipment, wheels and accessories, radar and electronics mounting systems, dinghy davits and marine mumps. The distributor will also provide technical support and design services for boatyards and builders who are specifying and installing Edson Steering Systems and related products.
