Defender Industries, a marine and boat supply retailer, and ActiveCaptain, a provider of interactive cruising information, teamed up to offer a new marketing program.

The new “Defender First” program will roll out Sept. 14 to more than 100,000 ActiveCaptain boaters worldwide.

“We have been Defender customers for nearly 20 years,” Karen and Jeffrey Siegel, founders of ActiveCaptain, said in a statement. “Defender has always represented great service, quality and value to us. They were our first choice to provide innovative programs to ActiveCaptain boaters and are the only retailer we are working with."

“We are very pleased to have been selected by such an important forum within our industry,” Defender CEO Al Knupp added. “With same-day shipping, high fill rates and a knowledgeable staff with hundreds of years of boating experience, Defender welcomes the opportunity to work with ActiveCaptain to expand our base of loyal customers around the globe."
