Discover Boating holding i-Discovered Boating contest

Discover Boating, the recreational boating industry's national awareness campaign, is holding an amateur video and photo contest called i-Discovered Boating to showcase Americans' love of the boating lifestyle.

Boaters across the U.S. are encouraged to submit videos and photos illustrating how they discovered boating for a chance to win up to $10,000 and to have their creation featured in a national advertising campaign for Discover Boating.

Entries can be submitted at DiscoverBoating.com beginning May 25. All entries must be received by June 30. Winners will be unveiled July 15 on DiscoverBoating.com.

"Every boater has a personal story on why they take to the water, whether it's a favorite family pastime, stress relief from the life on land or just the feeling of wind in their hair. It's these personal experiences that drive an estimated 70 million Americans to go boating each year," said Carl Blackwell, spokesman for Discover Boating, in a statement.

"We hope to spread this passion for the boating lifestyle by providing a forum for boaters to share their unique perspective of how they discovered boating," he added.
