Donovan Marine announced that it acquired Southern Marine Supply, based in Little Rock, Ark., including its Denton, Texas, Charlotte, N.C., and Birmingham, Ala., locations.

The new entity will offer recreational boating dealers 18 locations to service and supply accessory needs.

Donovan Marine chairman Benton Smallpage and Southern Marine’s Rick Willis say two-step distribution has never been in a stronger position.

“We are going to take the best of both companies and advance the recreational boating distribution model to a new level of performance,” Smallpage said in a statement.

Ben Nicholl will be CEO of the combined entity; Willis will be general manager of the Fresh Water Division.
