DOWCO, Inc., has unveiled DowcoLok QR (Quick Release), a hardware system for boat and pontoon canopy tops.

“This hardware is designed to take the rattles out of the recreational boating experience,” said David Leif, president of DOWCO Marine.

DowcoLok QR is a low-profile deck mounting button that requires only a single point of attachment to secure it to the boat. Working with DOWCO’s Rivet Nut, it eliminates the need for installers to fumble with backing plates or washers on the unexposed side of the boat’s mounting surface. The ease of installation will provide a significant time and labor savings to boat manufacturers, according to the company.

The Deck Button/Rivet Nut combination has passed pull tests of up to 2,600 pounds.

The deck hinge works with an “intelligent” latch that allows boat owners to operate it with one hand. There are no pins to rotate or lose overboard.

“We think boat owners are going to love this feature when attaching or removing the top — it’s stable, secure and easy to use,” Leif said. The product works with square and round tubing and can be installed in a top, side, or angled mount.

DOWCO engineers incorporated precision-machined parts and Delrin sleeves and bushings at critical component interfaces that result in a rattle-free installation.
Another DowcoLok QR feature is its multidirectional frame swivel that allows new configurations in the design of top frames. All DowcoLok QR hardware is constructed with 316 stainless fasteners. Contact: (800) 558-7755, www.dowcomarine.com.
