Evoy Unveils 300-hp Electric Outboard

Evoy said it introduced a 300-hp electric outboard motor with 225 kW of continuous power at this week’s Cannes Yachting Festival in Cannes, France. The Outboard Storm is the most powerful electric outboard ever, Evoy said in a statement.

In association with the launch, Evoy announced partnerships with three boatbuilders: Axopar, French Iguana Yachts and Goldfish. Each builder plans to introduce new models with the new Evoy motors.

Axopar launched a 25-foot electric prototype on the water at the Cannes show, Evoy said. The French Iguana and Goldfish vessels are scheduled for introduction in spring 2023.

“Axopar is excited to join forces with innovators that challenge the status quo of the industry,” Jan-Erik Viitala, founding partner of Axopar, said in the statement. “Our partnership with Evoy is a perfect example of two great companies, on a joint mission, to expand the boating community and offer new ways of mobility for the future,” he added.

Evoy founder and CEO of, Leif A. Stavøstrand, said, “We are very happy to partner up with Axopar as we really love their brand, product and crew. Evoy and Axopar have similar value propositions to our customers, where exploration and adventure is in the high-seat.”
