Florida fishing show wins TV award


The Telly Awards named Florida Sport Fishing TV a bronze winner in the 33rd annual Telly Awards for two episodes from the show’s inaugural season in 2011.

Super Snook and Breakfast Broadbills were chosen from nearly 11,000 entries.

Winners of the Telly Awards represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, TV stations, cable operators and corporate video departments in the world.

“The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video,” Telly Awards executive director Linda Day said in a statement. “Florida Sport Fishing TV’s accomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great film and video production.”

Florida Sport Fishing TV specializes in backcountry and bluewater fishing.

“Our crew couldn’t be more proud of this achievement. It’s a thrill to see our hard work and dedication paying off,” series host Capt. Mike Genoun said in a statement.
