Anthony A. Sarandes resigned from the Fountain Powerboat Industries’ board of directors for “personal business reasons,” according to documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The resignation, dated Oct. 27, was effective immediately.

As a result, Fountain has reduced the number of board members to six and has withdrawn Sarandes from nomination for re-election as a director at its annual meeting, set for Nov. 18.

Fountain’s remaining six incumbent directors named in the proxy statement dated Oct. 6 continue as nominees for re-election to fill the six seats on the board.
