Freedom Acquires Spain’s Fanautic Club
Freedom Boat Club announced that it acquired Fanautic Club, one of the largest European clubs, with 23 locations in Spain.
The acquisition expands Freedom’s holdings in Europe, where it also has locations in France and the United Kingdom.
“Spain is one of the great boating destinations in Europe, and we are thrilled for the opportunity to serve the members of Fanautic Club and continue our growth across coastal Spain,” Jason Worthy, vice president of boating services, said in a statement.
Fanautic has more than 600 members. Of its 23 locations, six will be owned and operated as corporate business units, and 17 will continue as franchises. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
“There are many synergies between Fanautic Club and Freedom Boat Club,” said Diego Orallo, co-founder of Fanautic. “Freedom is the most established boat club brand in the world, and we look forward to welcoming them to Spain and supporting their continued success.”
Fanautic is the third acquisition that Freedom Boat Club, a subsidiary of Brunswick Corp., has made this year, following the purchases of territories and operations in New York and Chicago.
