Freedom Boat Club Expands European Footprint

The Windermere location, the first of two new U.K. Freedom Boat Clubs, opened Sept. 1.

Freedom Boat Club is adding two franchises in the United Kingdom, establishing its first presence in the region and giving the Brunswick Corp. subsidiary 33 European locations.
The new locations in Windermere, England’s largest natural lake centrally located near the east coast, and Torquay, a seaside town in Devon, join clubs in France and Spain as FBC continues its international push.
“Opening our first franchise locations in the U.K. is a key part of our growth strategy,” Jason Worthy, Freedom EMEA boating services vice president, said in a statement.
Freedom Boat Club Windermere opened Sept. 1 and is owned and operated by Grahame Armer of Aquatic Quays Marina. Slated to open next spring, Freedom Boat Club Torquay is owned and operated by Jason Bond and Antony Birchell of Birchell Marina.
FBC this week is is exhibiting at the Southampton International Boat Show for the first time. The show runs until Sept. 25.
