Freedom Boat Club partners with N.Y. children’s museum

Freedom Boat Club Lake George said it partnered with the Children’s Museum at Saratoga in New York on a new boating and fishing exhibit.

Saratoga Lake — Let’s Go Boating is an interactive, immersive exhibit, helping youth utilize play as a means to enhance development.

The exhibit, which includes a life jacket station donated by BoatUS, will offer children an opportunity to take an imagination-fueled boat ride and discover plants and animals in their natural habitats. Additional interactive components are being constructed for visitors to engage as they discover life on the lake, according to FBC Lake George.

“We are frequent visitors of the museum with our 4- and 2-year-old daughters, and after we’ve seen their joy interacting with the steering wheels and controls on our club boats, we thought it would be a great addition to enhance the interactivity of the boat exhibit at the museum,” said FBC Lake George co-owner Rebecca O’Hara.

The exhibit’s grand opening is April 13 at 10:30 a.m.

“We strongly believe that time spent boating as a family is among the best quality time we have with our kids and want to continue making boating more accessible in the area,” said Matt O’Hara.
