Italy’s most important recreational boating event returns today with the opening of the 54th annual Genoa International Boat Show.

The venue boasts nearly 2 million square feet of exhibit space, more than half of it in-water, and draws more than 1,000 vessels, another 760 exhibitors, more than 100 product introductions and more than 100,000 visitors.

The show runs through Monday on the Italian Riviera. Organizers are promising an easier-to-navigate layout for this year’s luxury motoryacht showcase.

The largest motoryacht is the Sanlorenzo SL118, measuring 120 feet.

Although primarily European builders will exhibit at the show, electronics manufacturers Furuno, Garmin, Navico and Raymarine will have displays.
