The Gowrie Group has a new office in Newport, R.I., in the historic Aquidneck Mill, which shares a 2.5-acre waterfront campus with the International Yacht Restoration School.

Headquartered in Westbrook, Conn., the Gowrie Group provides a variety of insurance services. The Newport office was chosen to align with one of the firm’s core growth and focus areas — customized insurance for boaters and marine businesses.

In addition to IYRS, the mill building houses a maritime research library and 15,000 square feet of commercial office space for marine trades. Besides Gowrie, other companies include Sparkman & Stephens, Boothbay Harbor Shipyard, Nautor’s Swan, Jamestown Distributors, and the Museum of Yachting.

Two members of Gowrie's sales team, Steve Prime and Jim Johnstone, will serve existing and new clients out of the new location.
