The National Youth Marine Alliance has teamed up with the U.S. Power Squadrons to offer free boating and water education materials for local youth programs.

The educational program, WaterSmart From The Start, can be used at any waterfront facility. The material includes navigation, safety and rescue, fishing, personal watercraft and environmental education.

The program has an instructor's guide as well as a student book. All the lessons are included on a CD with interactive games to play.

Through a special arrangement with USPS, a limited number of the program materials are now available free of charge.
