HamiltonJet Breaks Ground on New Factory
Work recently began on a new production facility for HamiltonJet, which manufactures waterjet propulsion systems for the marine industry. A groundbreaking ceremony was held in Christchurch, New Zealand.
The new plant will have a footprint of 78,791 square feet and the company says the expansion is in response to increased global demand. The estimated build time is 12 to 15 months with a six-month window for equipment installation. The facility should be up and running by April 2026 and will feature CNC equipment, climate controls and a safer, more efficient paint process..
“We are delighted to see the ground works beginning for the new factory,” HamiltonJet’s managing director Ben Reed said in a statement. “As it is with projects of this size and scale, it has been years of planning, designing and consenting to get to this stage. HamiltonJet has been going from strength to strength, with increasing demand from the global market, so this is the next exciting chapter in our 85-year history as we look ahead to the future growth of the business.”
HamiltonJet has more than 70 years of experience designing and manufacturing waterjet propulsion systems. The company was founded by Sir William Hamilton and remains among the best-known waterjet suppliers for commercial and recreational applications.
