ICOMIA releases reports on emerging boating markets in Asia

The International Council of Marine Industry Associations has released a new series of reports on emerging boating markets in Asia. The reports provide information and recommendations on how to develop the recreational boating sector there. The reports cover Hong Kong, Malaysia, Macau and Singapore.

The association said this is the first of its Asia Project and said reports on other countries will follow shortly. The reports provide statistics about boat populations, marinas and other facilities, and industry and infrastructure statistics, including boat and yacht manufacturers, boating clubs and mooring facilities. It also provides information about imports and dealers.

The reports also identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats regarding potential growth of the industry. It also includes barriers to trade.

U.S. companies Correct Craft and Mercury Marine are sponsors, along with other international companies.
