Idaho could add boat-washing surcharge
An Idaho lawmaker is proposing a bill that would require boat owners to buy a $20 sticker to cover the cost of a boat washing program that aims to keep quagga and zebra mussels out of the state’s waterways.
If the invasive species find their way into waterways, it could cost the state $91 million annually, according to a report in the Idaho Statesman.
