Shipwright Technical Services LLC, a Connecticut-based firm that will offer technical sales and market consulting services, was formed by 30-year industry veteran Andy Colloton.
Colloton said he launched Shipwright Technical Services, based in the Ivoryton section of Essex, Conn., to fill a growing market need for technical sales services, coatings consulting and business development consulting services for the U.S. marine markets.
Colloton has a diverse background, having grown up working in boatyards, refitting and building boats before focusing on the fields of yacht rigging and then performance coatings, where he won the 2008 Kellogg Sales Rep of the Year Award out of 700-plus vendors as the company’s Awlgrip representative.
Colloton said his attention to technical detail and relationship skills will ensure that STS customers can focus on their core passion of manufacturing while STS delivers a successful market formula.
Petersen Stainless Rigging, of the United Kingdom, signed on as a client, with STS acting on behalf of the stainless steel rigging and shackles manufacturer as it expands its presence in the U.S. market.
"Andy has the unique combination of technical skills, market know-how and excellent customer relations to fit the Petersen philosophy of good customer support through good technical backup," Petersen Stainless CEO Kevin Bell said in a statement.
