IYRS hosting summer gala

The International Yacht Restoration School will host a weekend of fellowship and festivities July 9-11.

The IYRS Summer Gala offers a range of social, educational, and philanthropic opportunities. The proceeds will benefit the school and its preservation and education missions.

The weekend begins July 9 with an opening reception featuring photographer Onne van der Wal. The Annual Open Board of Trustees meeting at the Museum of Yachting July 10 will include reports on IYRS' and the MOY's financials, operations and strategic initiatives. Later that evening, there will be a Restoration Society Auction Preview Party and VIP reception at the Newport Shipyard.

The final day of the IYRS weekend will include an afternoon cruise on Enticer, an 85-foot Trumpy built in 1935, and the 12th annual IYRS Summer Gala that evening. The gala will include a cocktail reception, dinner, live and silent auctions, dancing and a special performance by Kate Taylor.

For information, visit the IYRS Web site or contact Deirdre Opp at (401) 848-5777 ext. 217 or dopp@iyrs.org.
