IYRS lectures to highlight boatbuilding methods

The International Yacht Restoration School will host a four-part lecture series beginning next week that will explore the boatbuilding methods of different time periods.

Leading figures in the marine industry will travel to the school to talk about boatbuilding projects that span a range of technology: from the methods used to create speed on the water in the America's Cup to the wooden boatbuilding methods used to restore a 60-year-old, plank-on-frame yacht to her original glory.

All lectures will be held at the school's Restoration Hall in Newport, R.I. Lectures are free to members of the school and the Museum of Yachting; the cost is $7 for non-members.
