Jackson Electronics sale is finalized

The assets of Jackson Electronics, a division of Atlantic Radio Telephone in Miami, were purchased by Jackson Marine Electronics, the company announced this week.

Details of the transaction, which occurred in August, were not disclosed.

The owners of Jackson Marine Electronics are John Maier and John Pitman of Commercial Marine Electronics in Pompano Beach, Fla. and Gary Coltart and Patrick Shartran of Fairwinds Technical Services in St. Augustine, Fla.

Jacksonville, Fla.-based Jackson Electronics specializes in marine electronics for all sizes of pleasure boats and yachts, and commercial vessels. Don Strausser and Nuno Matta will continue to provide sales and service, while the new ownership will provide financial and technical support, the company said in a statement.

"Both employees and new ownership are committed to supporting growth initiatives, increasing the scope of the company's products and services, and ensuring the company's long-term strength," the statement added.
