The Landing School in Arundel, Maine, invites the marine industry to meet the Class of 2009 at a June 1 job fair for its boatbuilding, yacht design, systems and composites students.

Representatives from boat shops, yards and design firms around the world are invited to have free tabletop booth space where they can greet and interview this year's graduating class.

More than 65 students are seeking employment as boatbuilders, yacht designers, marine systems techs and composites techs following their 10-month training programs, which culminate with a June 20 graduation.

"The annual job fair is an important introduction of The Landing School's students to the nationwide marine industry," said Barry Acker, the school's president, in a statement. "Even in the current industry downturn, we expect employers still want to meet the next generation of well-trained, well-prepared marine workers."

Marine industry employers with open positions should confirm their attendance at the job fair by downloading a participation form from the school's Web site and returning it via mail or fax.
