KingFisher Boats, Barnacle Form Partnership

Barnacle Systems, a designer and manufacturer of security and monitoring products, is partnering with KingFisher Boats to offer Barnacle’s app-enabled systems on some models.

For model year 2022, KingFisher’s Offshore and Coastal series will offer three levels of Barnacle’s BRNKL protection, which can be OEM-installed:

• Monitoring: Remote monitoring for systems such as batteries, bilge pumps, shore power connections, cabin temperature and humidity, impact monitoring and GPS tracking.

• Security and Monitoring: Expands basic monitoring package with the addition of a camera, door sensor, siren alarm and key FOB.

• Premium: Further expansion adds a second camera and an outdoor laser sensor on aft deck.

“Our goal at KingFisher Boats is to enrich lives while spending time on the water,” product development manager Stefan Depner said in a statement. “The BRNKL remote monitoring experience will give our owners peace of mind knowing that their boat is safe and secure and help prevent downtime.”

Added Barnacle CEO Brandon Wright: “We want to ensure that their boat is ready to go at a moment’s notice. You never know when adventure is going to call, and arriving to a boat with dead batteries or with stolen gear is not an acceptable experience. This is where BRNKL will help.”

Based in British Columbia, Barnacle earlier this year was awarded a contract with the Canadian government, which will monitor derelict vessels with the BRNKL Rapid Deploy system.
