Maloney Interiors has new Rhode Island location

Publish date:

Maloney Interiors, a Rhode Island-based design company specializing in yacht and residential interiors, is moving to Warren, R.I.

The company said it provides a wide range of services to the yachting market, including new build and refit designs and custom fabrication. Its seamstresses and upholsterers provide custom fabrication of items that include bedding, linens, curtains and drapes, cushions, pillows, embroidery and upholstery services.

“I am very excited to relocate Maloney Interiors to Warren,” principal designer Ally Mahoney said in a statement. “It’s a quaint town with lots of charm and appeal. There seems to be a supportive small business community, which I look forward to becoming a part of. Logistically I think it’s great for us to be on the East Bay, where we can easily get to many of our yachting clients in Newport, but still be in Boston, on The Cape or in Connecticut within an hour.”

The business will make its Newport International Boat Show debut Sept. 11-14 in Tent C, Booth 15.

And the Wait for New Boats Goes On

Ninety-five percent of marine dealers say they waited at least a month to get new-boat orders filled in August, and 35 percent say they experienced lead times of more than three months.

Consumer confidence at record highs

The economic indicator that Navico CEO Leif Ottosson watches first and foremost is consumer confidence, and The Conference Board’s measure of the American consumer’s mood delivered good news to Navico and the rest of the recreational marine industry at the end of August.
