Florida-based dealership Marine Connection announced that it acquired a controlling stake in Boaters Exchange. The deal gives Marine Connection 80 percent ownership of Boaters Exchange’s two marinas in Rockledge and New Smyrna Beach, Fla.
Marine Connection co-owner Danny Goldberg said in a statement that the company has been focused on expanding in central Florida because of its “tremendous growth potential.”
“We have been very strategic and selective in this effort and are extremely pleased to have acquired an outstanding dealership organization with an impeccable reputation and strong management team in place,” Goldberg said.
Marine Connection now has nine locations in the Sunshine State, with more than $100 million in annual sales.
“Our customers statewide enjoy the benefit and resources of working with a top sales and service organization, with locations from Key West to the central Florida and Daytona Beach areas,” added co-owner John Kutuk.
Boating Exchange founders Jerry Butz and Paul Berube remain on board with 20 percent ownership and will continue to manage its retail locations.
“We’re very excited to combine forces with a strong, well-respected dealership like Marine Connection,” Butz said.
