Marine marketer expands into eastern Canada

Derema Group, a national sales and marketing organization in the marine and outdoor recreation industry, expanded its current western Canada representation into eastern Canada.

Chris Mele, whose tenure with the organization dates from 1996, rejoined the company after serving as vice president of marketing for Tie Down Engineering. As director of new business development for eastern Canada, Mele will be working closely with Derema vendor clients and their eastern Canada customers.

“We are excited about this opportunity for Derema and Chris,” Derema Group president Chris de Recat said in a statement. “Eastern Canada is a unique marketplace, and we look forward to working with the customers to see how we can help them increase their business.”

Derema signed sales representation agreements for the new territory with many of its top vendor clients, including:

• Star brite

• Tie Down Engineering

• Challenger Hardware

• Anderson Marine

• Lehr

• LPI Consumer Products

• Waterbrands

Derema formed in 2000 after the merger of the R.J. de Recat Co. Inc. and Eastern Marketing Associates.
