Marine seat builders announce joint venture

Springfield Marine Inc. and Modell Møbler A/S have joined forces to share in product development, quality control, sales and distribution, the companies announced.

Norway's Modell Møbler is a leading marine seat and furniture manufacturer for commercial ferry and passenger ships worldwide. Springfield Marine, based in Nixa, Mo., is a leader in seating and seating hardware for the recreational marine industry worldwide.

"Each of our companies, and now our combined efforts, takes pride in being able to offer services from development to production," the companies said in a statement. "We can take an idea through design engineering, prototyping, in-house tooling [and] product testing, ensuring full compliance to standards and regulations and into production."
