MBIA appoints new officers to board of directors

The Michigan Boating Industries Association named Patti Smith, of Silver Spray Sports, chair of its board of directors and Andy MacLachlan, of Jefferson Beach Yacht Sales, vice chair. Jim Coburn, of Coburn and Associates, remains secretary/treasurer of the association.

Formerly vice chair, Smith fills the position after the passing of Tom Haag, who was vice president of Colony Marine in St. Clair Shores, Mich.

“Patti and Andy are strong leaders and advocates for the recreational boating industry in Michigan,” said MBIA executive director Nicki Polan, in a statement. “We welcome their leadership.”
