Redevelopment plans for the Bahia Mar, the main venue of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, will be presented to the Fort Lauderdale Planning and Zoning Board at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday.

The Marine Industries Association of South Florida is asking its members to attend the meeting and show their support for the boat show and its inclusion in the redevelopment plans. The meeting will take place at Fort Lauderdale City Hall Commission Chambers.

"Over the past three years, MIASF and Show Management have worked with the developer, Blackstone/LXR Resorts, to ensure the design plan properly accommodates the boat show space and access requirements, as well as allows for future growth," MIASF wrote in a notice to its members.

"Modernization of the Bahia Mar property is vital to the continued success of the show due to increased competition from other international venues," MIASF adds.
