Michigan trade group names directors, officers

Three marine businessmen were elected as directors of the Michigan Boating Industries Association, a statewide, non-profit marine trade association representing nearly 300 businesses.

Mike Apling, of Devil’s Lake Water Sports, and Tom Den Herder, of Yacht Basin Marina, were elected as statewide directors. Steve Popkie, of W.C. Beardslee, was elected as southeast regional director.

All will serve three-year terms.

Jim Coburn, of Coburn & Associates, was appointed chairman of the board; Tom Haag, Colony Marine, was appointed vice chairman; and Debi Schroeder, Wilson Marine, was appointed secretary/treasurer.
