Sail America opened registration for its 2010 Sailing Industry Conference, set for June 14-16 at St. John's College in Annapolis, Md.

The two-day conference, titled "Adjusting to the New Economy," features a schedule of expert speakers, breakout sessions and interactive peer discussions, plus a mix of social activities including a barbecue at Port Annapolis and a Sailing Industry Regatta at J World Annapolis.

"We've designed this event to maximize the learning time and return on investment for members of our industry," committee chair George Day of Blue Water Sailing magazine said in a statement. "Attendees will gain fresh new perspective on our sailing marketplace, plus acquire new leadership skills needed for today's challenging economic times."

Headlining the panel of speakers is Dean Brenner, chairman of the U.S. Olympic sailing program and president of the Latimer Group, who will give the keynote address, "Leadership Communication for the 21st Century."

General session segments include a roundtable discussion featuring industry leaders on "Changes in the Behavior of the Sailing Consumer," and an update on "Sailing Participation Trends," presented by the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association.

Highlighting the social agenda is the June 14 regatta sponsored by West Marine where industry teams compete for the Sailing Industry Regatta Trophy.

Soundings Trade Only is a partner sponsor of the event.
