The National Marine Bankers Association said Tuesday that Pace Bradshaw, vice president of congressional affairs at the Consumer Bankers Association, will speak at the NMBA’s annual Marine Lending Industry Conference in September.
Bradshaw is responsible for the Consumer Bankers Association's advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill and working with Congress on issues important to the retail banking industry. His expertise includes consumer issues under the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau’s jurisdiction such as mortgage rules, student lending, auto financing and other Dodd-Frank Act-related issues that affect retail banks.
Prior to joining the Consumer Bankers Association, Bradshaw was a member of the government affairs department at the Mortgage Bankers Association, where his most recent position was director of legislative affairs. Hired in 2006, Bradshaw led the group’s advocacy efforts on a number of real estate finance issues and financial regulatory reform, including leading industry efforts during Dodd-Frank on securing a qualified mortgage exemption.
The 34th annual NMBA Conference will be held Sept. 8-10 at The Abbey Resort and Avani Spa in Fontana-on-Geneva Lake, Wis.
The conference agenda also will include economic trends affecting the marine industry, updates on legislative issues that continue to shape the lending environment and a presentation on reducing risk without reducing reward.
