NMMA, Informa to Combine Sunshine State Shows
The National Marine Manufacturers Association and Informa Markets said that they will merge two west coast Florida events into one show, which will be held next January.
The NMMA’s Tampa Boat Show — slated to take place on Sept. 10-12 — will now be combined with the St. Petersburg Power & Sailboat Show and held in conjunction as the 2022 St. Petersburg Power & Sailboat Show on Jan. 20-23, 2022, at the Duke Energy Center for the Arts and Mahaffey Theater Yacht Basin.
Stakeholders said that they are following a long-term strategy to create a premier event on the Gulf Coast.
“Following discussions with marine industry stakeholders and exhibitors in the Tampa-St. Pete area, and listening to our attendees, we determined now is the time to merge the [shows] and begin building the Gulf Coast’s largest boating event,” said Informa U.S. boat shows president Andrew Doole in a statement. “Combining [the] shows will streamline and enhance the attendee experience and deliver the most comprehensive display of boats and marine products in the region.”
Informa will also be sole owner and producer of the combined event.
Tickets for the 2022 St. Petersburg Power & Sailboat Show are set to go on sale in October.
Any tickets purchased for the Tampa Boat Show are to be refunded, with no action needed by the ticket holder, organizers said.
