With National Marina Day fast approaching, NMMA president Thom Dammrich says it's time for the industry to get behind the "Welcome to the Water" campaign.

“We really need the whole industry to get on board with this Welcome to the Water movement,” Dammrich told Soundings Trade Only. “We need to demonstrate to the industry the significant business opportunity that they will miss if they don’t reach out to minorities and youth.”

The deadline is approaching for businesses that want to take advantage of free “Welcome to the Water” materials to use on National Marina Day.

Friday is the last day that dealers can sign up for the promotional kit, which includes window clings, banners, windshield and bumper stickers and brochures.

National Marina Day, set for June 9, recognizes the role marinas play in their communities and seeks to welcome new boaters to the water.
