NMMA reports increase in engine shipments

U.S. outboard engine wholesale shipments were up 3.7 percent year over year for the 12 months through August.

The numbers are for the National Marine Manufacturers Association’s control group of manufacturers, which represent 95 percent of the market.

Gains continue to be led by four-strokes and higher-powered engines, according to the NMMA.

Total retail sales based on warranty card registrations were up 13.6 percent on a rolling year-over-year basis.
