The National Marine Representatives Association is offering scholarships to students pursuing education and training in the maritime trades.

NMRA will award two $500 scholarships to outstanding students seeking careers in marine-related fields.

"Our group is dedicated to promoting and supporting the marine trade," NMRA president Ken Smaga said in a statement. "It's important to nurture and support excellence in the individuals who will soon enter the field. They represent the future of our industry."

High school seniors and college students can email info@nmraonline.org or call (847) 662-3167 for information. Applications are due May 1 and winners will be announced this summer.
