Northeast cruising site offers trip planner

A new website was recently launched that will help the boating community plan trips and cruises between New York and Nantucket, Mass.

The site — www.soundsailings.com — will promote marinas, restaurants and other local businesses. The site includes information on port towns, such as where to stay, which restaurants to go to, children’s activities, beaches, shopping, chandlery, bike rentals, hotels and taxis, according to organizers.

The site also includes a brief video of each town.

When users register, they can upload photos and videos of trips to share with other users of the site or choose to keep the photos and videos private.

Other features will be added in the coming months, organizers said, and a smart phone app is in the works.
