Ocean Signal radio gains FCC approval

Ocean Signal announced that its SafeSea V100 GMDSS handheld radio was granted type approval by the Federal Communications Commission for conforming to the relevant requirements for a portable survival craft two-way VHF radio telephone, allowing its use on U.S.-registered vessels.

“This approval follows a recent MED certification, making our full range of communications and safety products fully certified for use throughout Europe and now North America,” managing director Alan Wrigley said in a statement.

“We are delighted that our extensive research and development has put together such an exceptional range for mariners and hope that we have helped to make maintaining safety systems on board easier and safer,” he added.
