Oklahoma marina suffers storm damage

While Atlantic and Gulf coastal marine facilities watch for hurricanes at this time of year, inland marina owners in tornado country are also cautious.

Keystone Lake in Tulsa, Okla., is a 26,000-acre flood control lake with 11 boat ramps, miles of sandy beaches and three marinas. When a violent thunderstorm rolled over the lake on Tuesday, Keyport Marina was directly in its path.

Straight-line winds picked up a concrete deck dock at the marina, flipped it over, bent it out of shape and dropped it back down, partially atop an adjacent dock.

Nearly 30 boats were tied onto the 40-slip dock when the storm came through. Most came untied and floated into the harbor, but some weren't so lucky.
