Longtime boater and marine industry executive Dave Patnaude recently launched eBoatBrokers.com, a new "one-stop" online boat brokerage, financing and insurance company.

Patnaude said in a statement that the firm matches consumer buyers and sellers of recreational used watercraft while also offering secure financing and insurance to buyers.

Patnaude said he has spent his life immersed in the rich marine culture and boat-racing heritage of the Jersey Shore. In 1999, he formed the New Jersey Performance Powerboat Club, where he remains president, and he has parlayed his expertise about and enthusiasm for boating into a career.

Patnaude said he spent seven years at Essex Credit and three years at Bank of America and that he offers comprehensive specialized knowledge of recreational finance (marine, RV & aircraft).

Previously, while serving as general manager of Typhoon Performance Marine, Patnaude said he was also a leading Concept Boats dealer.

Patnaude said he recognized the need for a client-focused online boat brokerage to help buyers not only purchase or sell any style of boat, but also secure financing and insurance while dealing with a single person at a single company.

"What makes eBoatBrokers.com different is what we don't do," Patnaude said. "We don't hand a buyer off to another contact at a lending institution or insurance company. Instead we handle all three transactions, saving our busy clients the trouble of dealing with a number of different contacts. At eBoatBrokers.com the client works with a single individual."

Patnaude said boat sellers also realize unique benefits from eBoatBrokers.com.

"Other brokers might place a client's boat on Web listings and sit back waiting for an e-mail or for the phone to ring," he said. "While we provide those same listings, we also aggressively market a serious seller's boat through non-traditional outlets like eBay and Craigslist."

Patnaude said those outlets have been more effective than one might think.

He said eBoatBbrokers.com has partnered with two respected financial services firms, both of which boast deep marine industry experience: Total Dollar Insurance, a full-service insurance agency for which eBoatBrokers.com is an independent representative, and Sterling Associates, a financial services firm that provides financing, insurance and document services for boats, RVs, airplanes and manufactured homes.
