People love their dogs and their boats and “Mutts and Mimosas” cruises are merging the two.

The Potomac Riverboat Co.’s Canine Cruises, also known as “Mutts and Mimosas,” allow dog owners to bring their pets on board for a 40-minute ride on the Potomac River, according to an article in the Washington Post.

Potomac Riverboat partners with DoggyWalker.com, the Animal Rescue League and other shelters, sometimes bringing aboard dogs available for adoption. Several dogs have found new homes as a result of the cruises, according to Potomac Riverboat Co. vice president Charlotte Hall.

“The Alexandria [Va.] community are diehard dog fans,” said Hall. “It was a no-brainer” to offer the cruises.
