Powerboat registrations up in February

New powerboat registrations through February were up 4 percent on a rolling 12-month year-over-year basis, and boats 27 feet and above rose 11.1 percent.

Registrations of saltwater fishing boats led growth in the large boat segment, rising 15.9 percent, according to new data from the National Marine Manufacturers Association.

Tow sports boat registrations were up 8 percent; pontoons rose 7 percent and outboard- and jet-propelled runabouts were up 8 percent, the NMMA said.

Sterndrive cruisers were up 9 percent.
